The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Barr. Nyesom Wike, has declared that the Rainbow Coalition will produce all elective office holders in Rivers State during the 2027 general elections.

Wike made the declaration on Wednesday during a thank you visit to Asari Toru Local Government Area of the state, where he addressed supporters and political leaders drawn from different parties.

According to him, the Rainbow Coalition, operating under the Renewed Hope Family, was created to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re election and has since grown into a broad political family that cuts across party lines in Rivers State.

He said Rivers politicians had moved beyond partisan interests and resolved to work together for the collective interest of the state, stressing that political allegiance had been collapsed into one structure under the Renewed Hope Family.

“After Tinubu, the rainbow coalition will produce every elective position in Rivers State in 2027. So, if you don’t belong to this rainbow family, forget it,” Wike said.

The former Rivers governor listed some benefits the state was already enjoying as a result of its support for Tinubu in the 2023 election, assuring the people that the current year would be better than the last.

He thanked residents for remaining steadfast in their decision to support Tinubu, describing their choice as one that was already yielding positive results for the development of Rivers State.

Wike also praised community leaders for their loyalty and support, noting that the political risk they took in 2023 had paid off. He assured them of his continued backing when the time was right.

“Continue on this track and you will continue to reap good results. I assure you that I will stand with you at the appropriate time,” he said.

Earlier, the chairman of Asari Toru Local Government Area, Mr Onengiyeofori George, commended Wike for his contributions to the council and assured him that the people were united under the Renewed Hope Family.

Similarly, a member of the Rivers State House of Assembly representing Asari Toru Constituency II, Chief Michael West, praised Wike for galvanising support for Tinubu and described him as a good leader.

West also credited Wike with making an Ijaw man governor in Rivers State for the first time since the return of democracy, pledging that the people of the area would continue to support and follow him wherever he goes.
