The All Progressives Congress (APC) has announced the full schedule for its 2025/2026 nationwide ward, local government, state, and zonal congresses, culminating in the party’s national convention.
Senator Ajibola Basiru, APC National Secretary, shared the timetable on his verified X (formerly Twitter) handle on Saturday, noting that the activities follow Articles 11 and 17 of the APC Constitution and are aimed at electing party officials at all levels.
The process will commence with membership e-registration on Monday, December 1, 2025, running until January 30, 2026. Notices of congresses to state and Federal Capital Territory chapters are slated for February 2, 2026, while the purchase and submission of forms for ward and local government area congresses will take place from February 4 to February 9.
Screening committees for ward and LGA positions will be inaugurated on February 10, with aspirant screenings scheduled from February 11 to 13. Ward congresses are fixed for February 18, followed by appeals on February 19. Local government area congresses, including elections for three delegates—one female—to the national convention, will hold on February 20, with appeals on February 21.
At the state level, forms for state executive positions can be purchased from February 23 to 27, 2026. Screening and appeals will follow in late February and early March, while state congresses are set for March 7, 2026. Appeals arising from state congresses will be addressed between March 9 and 11.
Zonal congresses and arrangements for the national convention will take place from March 12 to 17, with zonal offices designated in Ibadan (South West), Enugu (South East), Rivers/Cross River (South South), Kaduna (North West), Gombe/Bauchi (North East), and Nasarawa (North Central). Zonal congresses are scheduled for March 21, with appeals on March 23.
The APC National Convention will hold from Wednesday, March 25, to Saturday, March 28, 2026.
Senator Basiru stressed that the timetable is designed to ensure transparency and orderly elections of party officials across all levels ahead of the convention.
