Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has expressed confidence that the All Progressives Congress will emerge victorious in the forthcoming Ekiti State governorship election, citing the party’s performance record and the support of the people.
Abiodun stated this on Wednesday during the inauguration of the APC National Campaign Council for the Ekiti governorship election held at the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The event brought together top party leaders and stakeholders from across the country to strategise ahead of the election and strengthen efforts aimed at retaining the state for the ruling party.
Speaking at the gathering, the governor described the inauguration of the campaign council as a critical step towards consolidating the gains of progressive governance in Ekiti State and boosting the party’s electoral fortunes.
He expressed confidence in the leadership of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, whom he described as a committed and result-oriented leader whose administration has continued to deliver development and improve the living conditions of residents.
Abiodun said, “The inauguration of the National Campaign Council is a significant step in our collective efforts to consolidate the achievements of progressive governance in Ekiti State and strengthen our electoral fortunes ahead of the governorship election.
“Governor Biodun Oyebanji has demonstrated purposeful leadership and commitment to the welfare of the people. His administration has continued to deliver meaningful development, and I am confident that the people of Ekiti State will reward performance and good governance.”
The governor also commended the APC National Working Committee for establishing what he described as a coordinated campaign structure capable of mobilising support and ensuring a successful outing for the party at the polls.
According to him, the inauguration provided an opportunity for party leaders to harmonise strategies, deepen collaboration and reaffirm their commitment to democratic values and sustainable development.
“The APC remains focused on advancing policies and programmes that improve the welfare of Nigerians. We are optimistic that the party will secure victory in the Ekiti governorship election through the support of the people and our proven record of performance,” he added.
Abiodun further reiterated the commitment of party leaders and members to strengthening the APC and promoting peace, stability and prosperity across the country.
The Ekiti governorship election is expected to test the APC’s popularity in the state as the party seeks to retain control under the leadership of Governor Oyebanji.
