Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a man with eight bags of suspected Indian hemp during a raid in Sapele.
The operation was carried out by the CP–Special Assignment Team (CP-SAT) following credible intelligence about drug trafficking activities in the area.
According to a statement released by the Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, the suspect, identified as Felix Africa, 44, was apprehended at his residence in the Gana area on 18th December 2025 at about 8:05 a.m.
A search of the premises led to the recovery of the drugs, which the suspect admitted owning and confessed to dealing in, including the buying and selling of other illicit substances.
Investigation into the case is ongoing as police work to identify other persons involved in the operation.
The Delta State Police Command reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property and urged members of the public to avoid engaging in illegal activities and report suspicious persons or behaviour to the nearest police station or the control room on 0803 668 4974.
