The father of late Afrofuji singer, Afeez Adeshina, popularly known as Destiny Boy, has raised alarm over the disappearance of his son’s Sport Utility Vehicle just days after the artiste’s death.
In a viral video circulating online on Tuesday, the grieving father appealed to Nigerians for help, expressing concern over the whereabouts of the vehicle, which he said was returned to the dealership shortly after his son passed on but has since gone missing.
According to him, the SUV was purchased from Lycon Autos, adding that he personally accompanied Destiny Boy to buy the vehicle. He explained that on the day of purchase, the dealership assigned a driver to deliver the SUV to their residence.
He said the arrangement later changed when Destiny Boy began using the same driver for personal errands. Trouble, however, started when the driver reportedly claimed the singer was owing him and allegedly took the vehicle back to the dealership without informing the family.
“Nigerians, please help me,” he pleaded in the video. “My son bought an SUV, and the car is with Lycon Autos. It is not a brand new car, but we went together to buy it. Lycon Autos gave him a driver that day to bring the car home.
“Later, Destiny started using the driver personally. The driver said my son was owing him money, so he took the car back to where we bought it from. I do not even have the driver’s phone number. If the car were here, I would have gone to pick it up.”
As of the time of reporting, Lycon Autos had yet to issue an official statement on the matter, while the current location of the SUV remains unclear.
Meanwhile, Destiny Boy died on Sunday at the age of 22. The news of his death was first confirmed by singer Bolisco, an associate of controversial musician Portable.
Bolisco disclosed that the late singer had been ill before his death, adding that he reportedly experienced severe symptoms and was said to have vomited blood prior to passing on.
