As Christians around the world celebrate Easter, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola has urged Nigerians to commit the nation and its leaders to prayer, particularly President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in light of the country’s ongoing transformation under the Renewed Hope Agenda.
In a press statement issued on Saturday and signed by his Media Adviser, Chief Kayode Odunaro, Senator Adeola, who chairs the Senate Committee on Appropriations, appealed to all Nigerians — regardless of faith — to imbibe the values of sacrifice, love, patience, and hope as demonstrated by Jesus Christ.
“It is not possible to develop any society where the Christian virtues of love, sacrifices for one another, patience and hope for a better future are scarce commodities,” Adeola stated.
He noted that the Tinubu-led administration, alongside other APC-controlled states, is steadily implementing reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda, which he described as positioning Nigeria on the path of sustainable economic progress.
“President Tinubu has so far shown courage in doing what is right for the nation at this time,” he said. “I have no doubt that we will be seeing more dividends of democracy soon.”
The senator emphasized the importance of citizens supporting the government’s efforts, especially as it tackles persistent challenges such as insecurity and economic instability.
“I call on all to pray for the President during the celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and beyond,” Adeola said.
He likened Nigeria’s current journey to the spiritual significance of Easter, insisting that hope, faith, and collective sacrifice are critical to national recovery.
“As the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ opened a window for salvation of sinners to make heaven, there is hope for a better Nigeria for all with hard work and prayers,” he added.
