The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested 12 suspected internet fraudsters in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
A statement from the Commission on Friday said operatives of its Uyo Zonal Directorate carried out the sting operation around Stadium Road, Unity Road, and Ekpri Nsukara following credible intelligence on the suspects’ alleged involvement in internet crimes.
Items recovered from them include 20 mobile phones and three laptops.
The EFCC added that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as ongoing investigations are concluded.
