Ogun State Governor and Chairman of the Southern Governors’ Forum, Dapo Abiodun, has applauded the performance of the All Progressives Congress in the Area Council elections held in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, describing the party’s outing as a clear reflection of its growing acceptance among Nigerians.
In a statement issued on Sunday in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Abiodun said the strong showing of the APC at the polls serves as an endorsement of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu.
The governor congratulated Tinubu, the National Chairman of the APC, Nentawe Yilwatda, and the party’s candidates in the election, noting that the outcome of the exercise points to brighter prospects for the ruling party ahead of the 2027 general election.
Abiodun said, “No doubt, the outcome of the area council polls at the FCT has shown clearly that Nigerians are fully aligned with President Bola Tinubu and the APC, and will again demonstrate this during the 2027 general election.”
He added, “The vast majority of Nigerians know that with APC at the helm of affairs, Nigeria’s future is in safe hands.”
Describing the party’s performance as remarkable, the Southern Governors’ Forum chairman maintained that the results from the FCT polls represent a precursor to victory in 2027.
“I congratulate President Bola Tinubu and the leadership of our great party, the APC, on this remarkable outing, which is a pointer to our victory in 2027,” Abiodun stated.
