Kano State Police Command has arrested a suspected drug dealer and recovered five bags containing 297 parcels of suspected cannabis sativa.
CSP Abdullahi Haruna, the command’s Public Relations Officer, confirmed the arrest in a statement on Tuesday. He said the suspect, identified as Ibrahim Mohammed of Rijiyar Zaki Quarters, was apprehended by operatives of the command’s Special Intervention Squad on December 15, 2025.
“The suspect was found in possession of five bags and 297 parcels of dried leaves suspected to be cannabis sativa,” the statement partly read.
Haruna noted that the arrest forms part of the command’s ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking and related criminal activities in the state. Investigations are ongoing to apprehend the suspect’s accomplices and recover additional exhibits.
The Commissioner of Police commended the operatives for their dedication and directed that investigations be concluded promptly to ensure that the suspect and his accomplices face the full weight of the law.
The Kano State Police Command urged members of the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the nearest police station for immediate action.
