Former Big Brother Naija housemate, Queen Mercy Atang, has confirmed the end of her marriage to David Oyekanmi, just one year after their wedding.

Mercy shared the update on Instagram while responding to a fan who inquired about her relationship status.

Davido joins Accord Party, to collect membership card Wednesday

The reality star tied the knot with David legally in March 2024 in a ceremony attended by family, friends, and well-wishers.

Speculation about strain in the marriage had circulated in recent months, especially after popular skit maker Lordlamba claimed that Mercy is the mother of his daughter, Princess Keilah.

Mercy has publicly acknowledged her daughter and often celebrates her on social media, even during her time with David.

The rumours intensified when the couple reportedly unfollowed each other on social media, and David was seen without his wedding ring, fuelling further speculation.

In a now-deleted Instagram reply to a fan who complimented her beauty while asking if she was still married, Mercy confirmed her status, stating: “Single and unavailable.”

This announcement brings to an end a marriage that lasted barely a year, and fans of the former BBNaija star have since sent messages of support and encouragement.
