The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested a suspected cultist in Ogbo, Ijagun area of Ogun State.
In a press statement signed by the State Commander, Commander (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, and made available to the public by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Adegunwa Adegbuyi, the suspect was identified as 25-year-old Abiola Sunday, a resident of Imosan.
Ganzallo said the suspect, who is a former student of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education, Ijagun, was arrested after months of surveillance.
“He escaped arrest some months ago on allegation of cultism. Thereafter, a surveillance team was set up to track him,” the commander stated.
According to the statement, the Acting Area Commander of Leguru Area Command, CSC Owoseni Joshua, received intelligence about the suspect’s presence in Ifesowapo Community on January 15, 2026. The operatives were immediately mobilised, leading to his arrest at about 1:30 pm.
The commander added that Abiola is a known member of the Aiye Confraternity and has allegedly terrorised residents and visitors in the Ogbo community.
The suspect has since been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Igbeba Area Command, Ijebu-Ode for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Commander Ganzallo reassured residents of the corps’ commitment to protecting lives and property, and working closely with other security agencies in the state.
