In a surprising move that blends celebrity influence with public service, Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has appointed music superstar Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba or Tuface, as Technical Adviser to the Governor on Entertainment and Community Outreach.

The appointment was announced in a widely circulated video on Wednesday, drawing applause from members of the governor’s cabinet.

Praising the internationally acclaimed artiste, Governor Alia commended 2Baba for his contributions to the entertainment industry and his philanthropic efforts.

“You have contributed a lot to different areas, even outside the state,” Governor Alia stated, acknowledging the singer’s influence beyond the entertainment sphere.

The governor went further to express gratitude for 2Baba’s support of his administration and political aspirations. “Let me thank you very uniquely for supporting my administration and preparing me for 2027. I feel it will not be out of place at all because you’re a guru of entertainment. Once you say 2Baba, people start dancing even without a song,” Alia added with a smile.

According to the governor, the appointment is a strategic step to tap into 2Baba’s creative insights and strong connection with the people.

“On behalf of the Benue State government, we want to give you more responsibilities beyond what you have already been doing because you have the capacity to help chalk the way forward,” he said.

He emphasized that the singer’s new role would contribute to improving lives across the state and deepening community engagement.

“We want to gain more from your wisdom and your affiliations. So, I’m pleased to announce that we are making you Technical Adviser to the Governor on Entertainment and Community Outreach,” Alia declared.
