Nigerian music legend, Innocent Idibia, popularly known as 2Face, has said he is done entertaining Nigerians with his marital issues, declaring that it is time for attention to return to his music and career.
The award-winning artiste made the statement on stage during the Homecoming Concert of his longtime friend and former Plantashun Boiz member, Faze, where he addressed the controversies surrounding his marriage that have dominated public discourse in recent days.
Speaking to a cheering crowd, 2Face admitted that the intense focus on his private life had become overwhelming, noting that his marital challenges with his wife, Natasha, had turned into what he described as “entertainment for Nigerians.”
According to him, the obsession with personal issues often overshadows the hard work artistes put into their craft, adding that the constant buzz around his marriage has distracted from the music that defined his journey and earned him respect across Africa and beyond.
The singer said while he understands that fame comes with scrutiny, he has decided to draw a clear line, insisting that his private life should no longer dominate conversations about his career.
He also used the opportunity to praise Faze for remaining consistent and focused over the years, describing the concert as a reminder of why musicians must always prioritise their craft above distractions.
2Face said the past few days had been emotionally draining, as stories, commentaries, and debates about his marriage flooded social media and entertainment platforms.
He, however, assured fans that he remains committed to his music, promising a renewed focus and a return to the form that made him a household name.
The crowd responded with loud applause as he proceeded to deliver a powerful performance, a moment many described as symbolic of his determination to reclaim the narrative from scandal-driven conversations.
