A Lagos State citizen journalist, Samuel Olumoran, has faced threats after exposing policemen from the Akinpelu Police Station in Oshodi allegedly extorting money from residents.
On Tuesday evening, Olumoran confronted Officer Oluwatosin Ojulewa, popularly known as ‘World Best’, demanding the return of N10,000 forcefully taken from a trader arrested the previous day.
According to Olumoran, Ojulewa responded angrily, warning him: “You are ruining our work by stopping us from raiding and asking us who we collected money from. If you or anyone makes me lose my job, I will make sure that person loses their life.”
Despite the threat, the officer returned the money to the victim, though he reportedly threatened to harm Olumoran for interfering.
The victim, who preferred to remain anonymous, confirmed that following Olumoran’s intervention, her money was refunded.
