The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will on Wednesday present the Certificate of Return to Osun State Governor-elect, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke, following the successful conduct of the 2026 governorship election.
The presentation is scheduled to hold at the INEC Osun State Office in Osogbo at 12:00 noon.
According to a statement signed by the Public Relations Officer of INEC, Osun State, on behalf of the Resident Electoral Commissioner, the event follows the governorship election conducted across the state on Saturday, August 15, 2026.
“The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Osun State will present the certificate of return to the Governor-Elect, His Excellency, Senator Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke following the successful conduct of the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election held on Saturday 15th August, 2026,” the statement said.
The commission also invited stakeholders and members of the public to attend the ceremony, stressing the importance of their presence at the event.
“Your presence at the event would be highly appreciated,” the statement added.
The presentation of the Certificate of Return is expected to formally document Adeleke’s emergence as governor-elect following the conclusion of the electoral process.
The event will take place at the INEC Osun State Office, Osogbo, from 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 19.
