Senator Solomon Adeola (APC, Ogun West) has expressed deep sorrow over the devastation caused by a recent rainstorm in parts of Ipokia Local Government Area, particularly in Ilase, where a 14-year-old Junior Secondary School 3 (JSS 3) student, Master Timothy Amosun, tragically lost his life.
In a condolence message, Senator Adeola described the loss as heartbreaking, noting that the natural disaster not only claimed a young life but also left several others injured and destroyed over 40 public and private buildings.
“It is highly regrettable that this disaster has led to the loss of a promising student and caused widespread destruction to homes, schools, and other properties,” he lamented.
While extending his condolences to the bereaved family, the senator assured the community of his commitment to facilitating assistance for all victims.
“I will work closely with the Alase of Ilase, Oba John Adewale Olaifa, to explore ways of providing relief to those affected and ensuring that necessary reconstruction efforts are undertaken through relevant government agencies,” he stated.
Senator Adeola also prayed for the peaceful repose of the young victim’s soul and strength for his family to bear the irreparable loss.
“This is a difficult moment for the entire Ilase community, and my thoughts and prayers are with the bereaved family and everyone affected by this disaster,” he added.
