Members of the Lagos State House of Assembly have showered praises on Speaker Mojisola Meranda for her competence, diligence, and impact during her brief tenure as the head of the legislative body.

Meranda, who assumed office on January 13, 2025, following the removal of former Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, received commendations from lawmakers during a plenary session on Monday. Despite her short time in office, several legislators described her leadership as exemplary.

During the session, which commenced at about 2:20 p.m., Aro Moshood initiated the praise session, describing Meranda’s leadership as “positively life-transforming.”

Supporting this view, Kehinde Joseph (Alimosho II) lauded her resilience and humility, stating, “You have made history with your resilience and humility. Your time may be short, but you have written your name in gold.”

Meranda’s leadership tenure, though brief, has left a lasting impression on her colleagues, even as the leadership crisis in the Assembly continues to unfold amid speculations of Obasa’s reinstatement.
