President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted the resignation of Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, the Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, following allegations levelled against him.
According to a statement released on Monday by Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Nnaji tendered his resignation through a letter addressed to the President.
Nnaji, who was appointed in August 2023, expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the opportunity to serve the nation.
In his letter, he alleged that he had become a target of blackmail from political opponents, a situation that led to his decision to step down.
President Tinubu thanked the former minister for his service and wished him success in his future endeavours.
