Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has publicly accused his father of exploitation, bad parenting, and attempting to take advantage of his success.
In an Instagram video shared on January 6, 2026, Portable referred to his father as “Baba Oko Bournvita” and alleged that he had been taking his belongings, interfering with his properties, and contacting his baby mamas to demand money without his consent. He claimed his father failed to support him while growing up and continues to frustrate him despite his career achievements.
Portable said, “Even my dad is only concerned with getting money from me. There is no time I would be in the police station that you will ever come to my aid as your son. But you can collect the phone numbers of your son’s baby mamas and collect money from them. You are with me, yet my life is scattered. When you are not with me, my life goes on.”
He further accused his father of mishandling his building projects, inflating construction costs, and failing to support him after his mother’s death. “When I wanted to build a house, I told him to handle it. He was always cheating me. A block of N300,000, he will call it N900,000. My father sent me away from Abuja, and I came to learn tailoring in Lagos,” Portable added.
Concluding the video, Portable told his father to stay away from his life, saying he would no longer tolerate what he described as exploitation and interference.
