In a bold move to empower young Nigerians and women with digital and entrepreneurial skills, the NACCIMA Youth Entrepreneurs (NYE) has officially unveiled the NACCIMA Youth Entrepreneurs’ Digital Academy (NYEDA).
The free digital learning platform was launched during the NYE side event themed “Youth Entrepreneurship in the Era of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Academy,” held alongside the 65th NACCIMA Annual General Meeting held recently in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The academy is designed to offer 100% free, self-paced online courses targeted at improving the digital competence and business skills of Nigerian youths, women, and other interested individuals.
The National Coordinator of NYE, Engr. Segun Bolaji, described the academy as a game-changer aimed at narrowing the digital skills gap, fostering inclusive economic growth, and positioning Nigerian youth for global competitiveness.
Through www.nyedigitalacademy.com, participants can access twelve professional modules, covering topics such as digital marketing, e-commerce, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data analytics, customer relationship management, ISO standards, and more.
Bolaji emphasized that the academy reflects NYE’s commitment to creating opportunities for youths, especially those from underserved communities, to acquire globally relevant business and tech skills free of charge.
“The NYE Digital Academy is not just a platform, it is a national movement. We are building a generation of digitally empowered, business-savvy Nigerians who can compete globally,” Bolaji stated.
Bolaji also expressed gratitude to the National President of NACCIMA, Barr. Dele Kelvin Oye, and the incoming President, Engr. Dr. Jani Ibrahim, for supporting the academy, describing their contributions as instrumental to the project’s success.
The event attracted dignitaries from both the public and private sectors, including Hon. Shehu Ndanusa Usman, Kwara State Commissioner for Youth Development, Prof. Abdulwaheed Musa from Kwara State University, Dr. Olusola Ayoola, Founder of Robotics and Artificial Intelligence Nigeria, and representatives of the KVP Nigeria Project, the key sponsors of the initiative.
