The All Progressives Congress in Ogun State has adopted Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, as its consensus candidate ahead of the party’s governorship primary for the 2027 election.
The development was contained in a press statement issued on Wednesday by the Media Adviser to the senator, High Chief Kayode Odunaro, following an APC stakeholders and strategic meeting held at Adeola Yayi Hall, Ilaro, Ogun West Senatorial District.
At the meeting, Senator Adeola expressed appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, former Governor Aremo Olusegun Osoba and other party stakeholders for the confidence reposed in him as consensus candidate.
He pledged commitment to the party’s agenda and promised to consolidate on the achievements of the Abiodun administration if elected governor in 2027.
“I am indeed grateful for the honour of emerging as the consensus candidate of our party. I will not take the honour for granted and promise to continue to build on and consolidate on the milestone achievements of Prince Abiodun when elected in 2027,” Adeola was quoted as saying.

“We in Ogun State set the pace that other states are still struggling to achieve when we unanimously agreed to have Senator Adeola as our consensus candidate for 2027. I am glad that all of you have reaffirmed our position,” the governor stated.
