The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Adeola, has reiterated his commitment to running an inclusive, people-oriented and development-focused administration if elected governor in 2027, assuring both old and new supporters that no stakeholder would be left behind.

Adeola made the pledge during a series of strategic engagements held over the weekend at his office in Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area, ahead of preparations for the 2027 general election.

The position was contained in a statement signed on Saturday by his media adviser, High Chief Kayode Odunaro.

The senator expressed appreciation for the growing support for his governorship aspiration across party lines and various interest groups in the three senatorial districts of Ogun State, saying his political philosophy was anchored on consultation, participation and collective decision-making.

“I want to re-assure all my supporters, both old and new, that I will run an inclusive, people-oriented and development-focused government where no stakeholders will be left behind. My political philosophy is built around consultation, participation and collective decision-making on issues of socio-economic development of our state,” he said.

Among the groups that met with Adeola were leaders of the Ogun East Assembly, also known as YAYI APEX, Yayi Teachers, the Odogbolu Local Government Political Group, former Peoples Democratic Party leaders and stakeholders from Ogun West Senatorial District, the Ogu General Assembly (Origin Group) and the Triple A (Team Akinlade) group.

Key stakeholders present at the engagements included a former Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Alhaja Salmot Badru; former governorship candidate and leader of Team Akinlade, Hon. Adekunle Akinlade; PDP stalwart from the LADO political group in Ogun West, Hon. Jinadu Ahmed; and the coordinator of Yayi Teachers across the 20 local government areas of the state, Comrade Sunday Odunaro.

Adeola highlighted what he described as his numerous developmental interventions across Ogun West, Ogun Central and Ogun East Senatorial Districts, including road construction projects, schools, healthcare centres, streetlights, erosion control works, markets and other constituency projects.

He said the aspiration to produce a governor of Ogun West extraction through his candidacy would require unity, discipline, sacrifice and sustained grassroots mobilisation across all parts of the state.

According to him, his administration would build on his achievements as a lawmaker and consolidate on the accomplishments of the incumbent administration while ensuring that the state’s resources are deployed for the overall benefit of the people.

The senator also assured new supporters and political allies of a sense of belonging within his political movement, promising continued engagement with aggrieved or dissatisfied stakeholders.

“I will convene additional reconciliation meetings involving stakeholders and aggrieved political actors to ensure inclusive participation and integration of all support groups into campaign activities,” he stated.

Speaking during one of the engagements, Badru expressed overwhelming support for Adeola’s governorship aspiration among people of Ogun West, describing his developmental interventions, grassroots appeal, political inclusiveness and commitment to the advancement of Ogun State as qualities that distinguished him.

She stressed that the focus should now be on strengthening unity, reconciliation, grassroots mobilisation and strategic coordination among supporters ahead of the election.

Also speaking, Akinlade, on behalf of his political group and the new PDP supporters backing Adeola, said the governorship aspiration of the senator and the Ogun West agenda had gone beyond partisan politics.

According to him, the quest represents a historic duty aimed at promoting equity, justice and fair play in the 50-year political history of Ogun State.

He, however, joined members of the Ogu General Assembly in calling for equal treatment of members, recognition of contributions, inclusion in campaign structures and opportunities for participation in government should Adeola emerge victorious in the election.
