The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, on Sunday inaugurated a multi-million naira campaign headquarters in Abeokuta, describing the facility as a strategic base for his campaign ahead of the 2027 governorship election.

The campaign office, located in the Ibara area of the Ogun State capital, attracted prominent APC leaders, government officials, traditional rulers, lawmakers and party supporters, including the party’s deputy governorship candidate, Alhaja Kudirat Adegunwa-Balogun.

Addressing the gathering, Adeola appealed to party members and supporters to remain united and committed to the APC’s electoral success, saying the campaign headquarters belonged to every loyal member willing to contribute to the party’s victory in the 2027 poll.

The lawmaker representing Ogun West Senatorial District disclosed that construction of the edifice began about two years ago, long before he secured the APC governorship ticket, noting that the project was driven by faith and confidence in God’s plan.

According to him, the building was completed months before he emerged as the party’s consensus governorship candidate.

Adeola said, “I am happy today that we are commissioning this beautiful edifice as my campaign headquarters. It started two years ago when the coast was not clear at all. I was not sure that I would get the ticket of my party, but I tied its construction to faith.

“After the completion of the building, I was still an aspirant but my faith in God was unshaken. I even thought that if my gubernatorial aspiration did not come through, I would put the building to another use. But as God would have it, I emerged as the first APC governorship candidate in Nigeria. I am grateful to God for making this dream a reality.”

The APC standard bearer also appreciated Governor Dapo Abiodun for supporting his aspiration and expressing confidence in his ability to succeed him.

He further thanked party leaders and members across the state for standing by him throughout the nomination process.

“I appreciate our governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, for believing in my capacity to succeed him and deliver good governance to the people of Ogun State. I also thank our party leaders and members for their confidence and support.

“I assure you that, by the grace of God, our administration will be guided by fairness, equity and justice. This campaign headquarters belongs to all party members who are ready to work for our collective victory in 2027,” Adeola added.

Representing Governor Abiodun at the event, the Secretary to the State Government, Tokunbo Talabi, described the campaign headquarters as a remarkable achievement and one of its kind in Ogun State.

Talabi said the facility would become a reference point for political campaigns across the country, expressing confidence that Adeola would consolidate on the achievements of the current administration if elected governor.

“This is an unprecedented campaign headquarters in Ogun State. It is a project that will serve as a reference point for others across Nigeria. We are confident that Senator Adeola will sustain the developmental strides of the present administration and provide inclusive leadership that will further advance the socioeconomic development of Ogun State,” Talabi said.

The event was attended by the Ogun State APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, former Deputy Governors Senator Gbenga Kaka, Alhaja Salmot Badru and Prince Segun Adesegun, the wife of the APC governorship candidate, Chief Mrs Temitope Adeola, as well as traditional rulers, including the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Aremu Gbadebo, the Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, and the Olubara of Ibara, Oba Jacob Omolade.

Also present were Archbishop Michael Fape, Sheikh Sugar, Senators Lekan Mustapha, Iyabo Anisulowo and Akin Odunsi, members of the Ogun State House of Assembly, and other serving and former federal and state government officials.
