Ogun State is set to benefit from a major industrial boost as Mamuda Group Nigeria Limited unveils plans to invest $50 million in establishing a world-class beverage production plant through its subsidiary, Mamuda Beverages.

The announcement was made during a courtesy visit by the Chairman of Mamuda Group, Mr. Hassan Hammoud, to Governor Dapo Abiodun at the Governor’s Office, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta on Tuesday.

According to Mr. Hammoud, the groundbreaking ceremony for the facility is scheduled for next month. “This project will roll out in phases. Our goal is not just to produce beverages, but to expand into food processing, personal care, and agro-processing,” he said.

He explained that Mamuda Group, which currently employs 13,000 workers in Kano, is projecting similar job creation in Ogun over the next five to six years. “We are starting with 1,500 employees in the first phase. When completed, we expect to have about 3,000 people working in this facility,” Hammoud added.

He emphasized that Ogun’s strategic location and infrastructure played a critical role in their investment decision. “Being close to Lagos and the entire South-West corridor is key for logistics and market access. Ogun State provides the best business climate,” Hammoud stated.

Commending Governor Abiodun’s administration, he remarked, “Your government has demonstrated commitment to attracting investors. The support and openness we’ve experienced have been outstanding.”

In his response, Governor Dapo Abiodun welcomed the investment and reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to building a robust industrial ecosystem. “We are excited about the confidence investors like Mamuda Group have shown in Ogun State. It validates our ongoing reforms and infrastructure development,” the governor said.

Abiodun cited key infrastructure projects such as the recently completed international airport and the licensed dry port initiative as strategic efforts to enhance the ease of doing business. “Ogun is fast becoming the preferred destination for investors seeking efficiency, connectivity, and sustainable value,” he noted.

The governor assured the Group of full government support throughout the project’s implementation.
