The Senator representing Ogun West Senatorial District and the All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, has described the death of the 46th Onipokia of Ipokia Kingdom, Oba (Dr.) Yisa ‘Sola Adeniyi Olaniyan, Orijajoogun I, as a huge loss to Ogun West and the state’s cultural heritage.

This was contained in a statement issued on Sunday by his Media Adviser, High Chief Kayode Odunaro, in which the senator expressed sadness over the monarch’s passing and condoled with the royal family, the traditional council and the people of Ipokia Local Government.

Adeola described the late monarch as one of the foremost modernising traditional rulers in Ogun State, saying his reign, though short, was marked by a unique blend of cultural preservation and developmental strides.

According to the senator, the late royal father was widely recognised as a custodian of culture, a promoter of peace and a passionate advocate of education and youth development in Ipokia Kingdom.

He said, “Oba Olaniyan’s short reign came to be defined by a dignified blend of heritage and progress. He was widely acknowledged as a custodian of culture, a promoter of peace and a tireless advocate for education and youth development in Ipokia.”

Adeola commiserated with the immediate family of the late monarch, members of the traditional council and sons and daughters of Ipokia at home and in the diaspora over the irreparable loss.

He prayed for the peaceful repose of the monarch’s soul and asked God to grant his family and the people of the kingdom the strength to bear the loss.
