A political stakeholder in Osun State, Princess Kemi Oshodi, has declared support for Thomas Ogungbangbe ahead of the 2027 Osun East Senatorial election, urging leaders of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to give younger and loyal party members the opportunity to represent the district.
Oshodi, in a statement made available to journalists, said indigenes across the Ife/Ijesa Senatorial District were already demanding for Ogungbangbe to emerge as the party’s candidate, describing him as a capable and energetic figure who can drive meaningful development in Osun East.
She stressed that the district needs purposeful representation that would prioritise youth empowerment, growth, and the delivery of democratic dividends to the people.
According to her, it is important for APC leaders to entrust the senatorial district into “capable hands that can truly drive development and ensure that our people enjoy the real dividends of democracy.”
Oshodi expressed concern over the ambition of an older politician who had already spent eight years in the Senate and recently defected to the APC but still seeks another term in office.
She argued that there are committed and qualified members within the APC who have remained loyal to the party and are ready to serve the people diligently if given the opportunity.
“The future of our youths must remain a priority. This is the time to give the younger generation the chance to contribute their quota to the growth and progress of Osun East,” she said.
She added that fresh ideas, renewed energy, and purposeful representation were needed to reposition the district for greater development.
“Osun East deserves better. Osun East deserves progress. Osun East deserves Thomas Ogungbangbe,” she stated.
Oshodi also called on APC leaders and stakeholders in Osun State to reward loyalty, commitment, and dedication within the party structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
