The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has released the list of its 110-member National Convention Organising Committee (NCOC) ahead of its elective national convention scheduled to hold in Ibadan, Oyo State, on November 15 and 16, 2025.

The committee, which will be inaugurated on Tuesday, September 2, is chaired by Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Fintiri. Osun State governor, Ademola Adeleke, was named the first deputy chairman, while Enugu State governor, Peter Mbah, will serve as secretary. Former Minister Kabiru Tanimu Turaki was appointed as the second deputy chairman.

Other prominent figures in the committee include Oyo State governor, Seyi Makinde, former Senate President Bukola Saraki, Board of Trustees chairman Adolphus Wabara, Senate Minority Leader Abba Moro, as well as PDP National Chairman and former Deputy National Chairman (South), Chief Olabode George.

According to the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, the committee has the mandate to organise the Ibadan convention, which the PDP insists will go ahead despite disagreements over its decision to zone the 2027 presidential ticket to the South.

Ologunagba said in a statement: “The 110-member PDP 2025 National Convention Organising Committee has His Excellency Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State as chairman, His Excellency Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State as vice chairman and His Excellency Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State as secretary. The NWC charges all leaders, stakeholders and members of the PDP to remain united, focused and committed to the success of the Ibadan convention.”

Meanwhile, one of the party’s presidential hopefuls, Dr Gbenga Olawepo-Hashim, has rejected the zoning decision, describing it as “unconstitutional” and an attempt to exclude some aspirants.

He maintained that Nigerians were only interested in a competent leader who could address the nation’s challenges, regardless of region.
