Prophet Ebuka Obi of Zion Prayer Movement Outreach has denied any personal connection with a woman who recently testified in his church, claiming she had purchased a house worth ₦500 million.
The cleric made this known after revelations emerged that the testimony was allegedly fabricated, sparking widespread debate online.
In a viral video circulating on X (formerly Twitter) since Sunday, Prophet Obi clarified that he had never met the woman before and accused her of lying before God and on the church’s altar.
“I said it last month that my name would be all over the media. I said the media would be shaking, making it look real, but it’s all fake,” Obi stated, addressing the issue.
He emphasized that the woman was just one of many individuals who stepped forward to share testimonies at his ministry, stating, “I heard from clergymen in the East that bloggers were sponsored. Now, do I know her? Does any member know her? She came to testify, just like hundreds of others who come here daily.”
Dismissing any association with the controversy, he further remarked, “If the house she claimed to own is fake, then it is her who lied before God and His altar — not the ministry.”
The incident has generated mixed reactions on social media, with some questioning the authenticity of testimonies in religious gatherings and others defending the cleric’s stance.
