The Ogun State Government has applauded the Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, for its critical role in enhancing grassroots security and supporting conventional security agencies across the state.

The commendation was given by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Dr. Rotimiolu Akinlesi, during his inspection visit to the Corps’ headquarters at Oke-Ilewo, Abeokuta.

Dr. Akinlesi expressed satisfaction with the Corps’ operations and their contribution to maintaining peace and order in the state. “The So-Safe Corps has played a vital role in maintaining the peace we currently enjoy in the state. Their dedication to security at the community level has laid a solid foundation for sustainable development,” he said.

While reaffirming the Ministry’s continued support, he added, “As the supervising Ministry, we remain committed to creating an enabling environment that empowers officers to thrive in their duties.”

In response, the State Commander of the So-Safe Corps, Commander (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, appreciated the state government and the Ministry for their unwavering support. He pointed out that recent renovations at the Corps’ headquarters have significantly improved operational effectiveness.

“We are grateful for the state government’s support, especially the recent renovations at our headquarters, which have greatly enhanced our operational capabilities,” Ganzallo stated.

Commander Ganzallo emphasized the Corps’ unwavering commitment to crime prevention through proactive community engagement. “We remain steadfast in our mission to curb crime through grassroots engagement. We will continue to train and retrain our officers, equipping them with modern tools and techniques for crime tracking, prevention, and investigation,” he said.

He also appealed to the Chairmen of the 20 Local Government Areas in the state to intensify their support for the Corps. “Local Government support is vital. We appeal to our Council Chairmen to partner with us by supplying the logistics needed to keep our communities safe,” Ganzallo concluded.
