Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, has been inaugurated as a member of the 92 member National Convention Committee of the All Progressives Congress, as the ruling party begins formal preparations toward the 2027 general elections.
The inauguration ceremony took place at the party’s National Secretariat in Wuse, Abuja, and was presided over by the National Chairman of the party, Nentawe Yilwatda.
The committee is chaired by former Governor of Katsina State, Aminu Masari, and has been mandated to organise a successful, transparent and inclusive national convention that will further strengthen internal cohesion within the party and strategically position it for the next electoral cycle.
Other prominent members of the committee include Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun; former Ogun State Governor, Olusegun Osoba; former Interim National Chairman of the APC, Bisi Akande; former Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; and former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, among other senior party leaders.
