The All Progressives Congress governorship candidate in Ogun State, Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, on Monday continued his statewide consultations with party leaders and stakeholders, holding separate strategic meetings with APC leaders from Ewekoro, Odeda and Abeokuta South Local Government Areas at H3 Events Centre in Abeokuta.

The consultations, according to a statement made available to journalists, formed part of his ongoing engagements across the 20 local government areas of the state to strengthen party unity, assess the APC’s performance in previous elections and consolidate grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Addressing party stakeholders, Adeola stressed the need for reconciliation, inclusiveness and stronger grassroots mobilisation, saying the party’s collective interest must take precedence over individual ambitions. He warned members against anti party activities and internal divisions, while assuring them that efforts were ongoing to reconcile aggrieved stakeholders and accommodate former aspirants as well as new entrants into the party.

The senator also unveiled plans to strengthen the APC’s ward structures through a collegiate leadership system. He said ward leaders would be given greater responsibilities to coordinate mobilisation, deepen stakeholder engagement and improve the party’s electoral performance across the state.

While expressing concern over the party’s previous electoral performances in Ewekoro and Abeokuta South, Adeola urged stakeholders to identify the factors responsible for the setbacks and work together to secure decisive victories in the 2027 general elections. He, however, commended Odeda Local Government for its performance in the last election and challenged party leaders to deliver even more votes for the APC in future polls.

Stakeholders from the three local government areas reaffirmed their commitment to party unity, grassroots engagement and the success of the APC. They also called for greater inclusiveness, sustained reconciliation, stronger collaboration among party leaders and continued support for party structures at the ward level.

In his closing remarks, Adeola reiterated his commitment to building a united and formidable APC across Ogun State, expressing confidence that sustained unity, effective grassroots mobilisation and the collective commitment of party members would ensure overwhelming victories for the party in the 2027 general elections.

The meetings were attended by the Ogun State APC Chairman, Chief Yemi Sanusi, Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Daisi Elemide, Senator Shuaib Salisu, representing Ogun Central, Hon. Olumide Osoba, former APC governorship aspirant, Hon. Kayode Jelili Amusan, former Ogun State APC Chairman, Chief Derin Adebiyi, former Deputy Governors, Chief Bode Mustapha and Alhaja Salmot Badru, former Speakers of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Rt.
