The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has arrested seven men for allegedly stealing a generator and other valuables from a company in the Agbara/Igbesa area of the state.

State Commander of the Corps, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, in a statement issued on Wednesday by the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf, said the arrests followed intensified patrols across the state.

According to Ganzallo, the suspects were apprehended in the early hours of Monday, August 11, 2025, after a patrol team spotted suspicious movements near the perimeter fence of a company along Ajibade Road, off Korogboji Junction.

“In a swift response, the officers called for reinforcement to prevent casualties, as it was unclear how many suspects were involved,” he said. “By the time backup arrived, the thieves had carted away some company property, but they were tracked to a nearby hideout.”

The seven arrested include Ibrahim Umar, Ibrahim Kalid, Aliu Abdullahi and Abdulbakar Mohammed, all from Kaduna State; Rasheed Ibrahim and Sabiana from Kano State; and Abdullahi Ibrahim from Gombe State.

Items recovered from the scene were a grinding machine, a generator and two motorcycles suspected to be proceeds of earlier crimes. One of the motorcycles bore no number plate, while the other was marked PKA-147 VM.

Ganzallo added that a 30-litre container of diesel and a standing scale also stolen during the incident were yet to be recovered.

He confirmed that the suspects and the recovered items had been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Agbara Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and prosecution.
