The Ogun State Community Social Orientation and Safety Corps has arrested a 22 year old man, Semiu Owolabi, for attempting to sell stolen vehicle parts at Sabo Scrap Market in the Owode Yewa area of the state.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement issued by the State Commander, Dr Soji Ganzallo, and released to the press by the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi. The agency said its operatives acted on credible information received on November 26, 2025, from the Alagbon Division of the Corps.
Ganzallo explained that the Divisional Officer, SC Ibrahim Badru, under the Owode Yewa Area Command led by ACC Saka Akeem, quickly moved into action after receiving a report that the suspect was negotiating the sale of vehicle parts suspected to be stolen. Officers stormed the scrap market where Semiu was reportedly bargaining with dealers.
He was arrested at the scene and, during preliminary interrogation, confessed to the crime. The Baale of Alagbon, Chief Owolabi Maruf, also confirmed that the suspect had a history of theft in the community.
He disclosed that Semiu had previously been linked to the theft of cocoa beans, iron rods and other items on multiple occasions.
Recovered items from the suspect include two shock absorbers and one wheel shaft.
According to Ganzallo, the suspect and the stolen parts have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Owode Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and prosecution.
