The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested two suspects for allegedly stealing aluminum cable wires in the state.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the State Commander of So-Safe Corps, Commander (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, through the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf.
According to the statement, operatives of the Corps on routine patrol at about 5:00 a.m. on March 29, 2025, apprehended the suspects—Kamoru Mustapha, 25, and Mubarak Idris, 26—while allegedly carting away aluminum cables in a bush at Onijanganjangan, Obada-Oko in Ewekoro Local Government Area.
“The suspects, who were scavengers, were caught red-handed while attempting to escape with stolen aluminum cables,” Ganzallo stated.
During the preliminary investigation, the suspects reportedly confessed to the crime. “Our officers acted swiftly upon sighting the suspects, and upon questioning, they admitted to stealing the cables,” he added.
Ganzallo further confirmed that the suspects, along with the recovered stolen cables, have been handed over to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Ogun State Command, at Dekudu Village along Kobape Road, Abeokuta, for further investigation and possible prosecution.
