The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation, and Safety Corps (So-Safe Corps) has arrested four undocumented nationals from Cameroon and Chad for illegal entry into Ogun State.

The arrest was disclosed in a press statement from the Office of the State Commander, Commander (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, issued through the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Moruf Yusuf.

According to the statement, intelligence received around 0800hrs on February 13, 2025, revealed that the suspects had boarded a taxi heading to Lafenwa, Abeokuta. Acting swiftly, the So-Safe Corps operations team tracked the vehicle and apprehended the individuals before they could alight.

Ganzallo stated, “Our team acted on credible intelligence and successfully intercepted the suspects before they could disperse. They were arrested without any harm.”

Preliminary investigations revealed that two of the suspects, both Cameroonians, had been residing in Ibadan for over four months, waiting for their Chadian counterparts to join them. Upon arrival, they traveled to Ogun State under the directive of a Chadian national, Hassan Seid, who lives and works in Lafenwa, Abeokuta.

The four arrested individuals were identified as Dorooumouna Brosia, a 23-year-old Cameroonian and leader of the group; Hassan Bukhari, a Cameroonian; Saleh Sinine Sakhair, a 27-year-old Chadian; and Mahamat Moudaina, a 23-year-old Chadian and brother to Saleh Sakhair.

During interrogation, the suspects claimed they had traveled to Ogun State to seek job opportunities and improve their English language skills while engaging in business.

Expressing concern over illegal migration, Commander Ganzallo emphasized that unauthorized entry into the country poses serious security, public safety, and health risks.

He warned that undocumented migrants could become involved in criminal activities, making it crucial for security agencies to remain vigilant.

“Illegal migration, if unchecked, can threaten national security. We must ensure that every foreigner entering our borders is documented and accounted for,” he stressed.

Following their arrest, the suspects were handed over to the Nigeria Immigration Service, Ogun State Command, for further investigation and possible repatriation.
