Operatives of the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, also known as So-Safe Corps, have apprehended two suspected burglars in possession of stolen items in the Aferiku area of Idiroko, Ogun State.

The arrest, which occurred around 2:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2025, was the result of a routine patrol conducted by officers of the Idiroko Area Command in collaboration with the Idiroko Division of the Corps.

This was disclosed in a press statement issued by the Commander of the Corps, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, through the office of the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander of Corps, Moruf Yusuf.

According to Commander Ganzallo, the suspects—Daniel Olaitan Enitan, aged 24, and Adetona Sodeeq, aged 23—were spotted acting suspiciously while carrying large school bags in the early hours of the morning.

“Our men on patrol noticed two young men moving suspiciously along the Aferiku area. Their attempts to evade the patrol team triggered further scrutiny,” Ganzallo stated.

He said the officers immediately accosted the duo, who attempted to flee but were promptly apprehended. Upon a thorough search, the patrol team discovered various items in their bags, including clothes, shoes, and personal effects suspected to be stolen.

“After initial interrogation at the scene, the suspects confessed to burgling five different shops in the area, including one adjacent to Ikolaje Primary School, along Border Road in Idiroko,” the Commander revealed.

Items recovered from the suspects included one power bank, one hammer, one singlet, two large school bags, two crossbody bags, one pack of “3-in-1” boxers, six pairs of boxers, six polo shirts, four pairs of jeans trousers, three pairs of Crocs, and eight pairs of palm sandals.

Commander Ganzallo confirmed that the suspects, along with the recovered items, have been transferred to the Nigeria Police Force, Idiroko Divisional Headquarters, for further investigation and possible prosecution.

He assured residents of the Corps’ unwavering commitment to securing communities across the state. “We will not relent in our duty to rid Ogun State of criminal elements. No matter their tactics or cover, we are determined to root them out,” he vowed.
