The Ogun State Community Social Orientation and Safety Corps, known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested a 50 year old welder, Adeshina Adebowale, for allegedly stealing a motorcycle at Egudu community in Ogun State.
The State Commander of the Corps, Dr Soji Ganzallo, confirmed the arrest in a statement released by the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi. He explained that the incident occurred around 1am on November 27, 2025, when one Jamiu Wasiu raised a distress call that his motorcycle had been stolen from his residence.
Ganzallo said the Divisional Officer, Atuko Shekeinde Division, SC Ishola Sanya, immediately alerted the Area Commander, Ado Odo Igbesa Area Command, ACC Oluti Kehinde.
He added that the Area Commander promptly instructed operatives under his command to commence surveillance patrol aimed at tracking down the culprit.
According to the complainant, he had been asleep when he woke up and discovered that his motorcycle was no longer where it was parked. He then sought the intervention of So-Safe operatives in the area.
The Corps Commander said the operatives swung into action once the directive was issued and continued patrolling until about 3pm the same day.
While on Ketu, Latike, Lusada Road, the operatives, alongside the complainant, sighted the stolen motorcycle with two men on it. One of them escaped while the second suspect was restrained and arrested.
Ganzallo noted that during preliminary interrogation, the suspect, Adebowale, who works as a welder and also rides motorcycles commercially, confessed that one Ayo Balogun brought the motorcycle to his house around 9pm the previous night.
Adebowale claimed he asked Balogun how he got the motorcycle and was told that it belonged to his father and needed to be taken to his house in Atan.
The Corps confirmed that the recovered motorcycle with registration number BK 574 UV and the suspect have been handed over to the Nigeria Police Force, Idi Oke Division, for further investigation and prosecution.
