The Vice-Chancellor of Tai Solarin Federal University of Education (TASFUED), Professor Samuel Ekundayo Oladipupo, has commended the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, for its contributions to security within the university community and its host communities.

Oladipupo made the commendation when the Directorate of Information and Public Relations of So-Safe Corps paid a media and courtesy visit to the university on Friday, September 18, 2026.

The delegation, led by the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi, was received by the university’s Chief Security Officer, Dr Moses Ogundeji, alongside members of the university management.

Speaking during the visit, the Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation for the Corps’ interventions during periods of security challenges within the university environment.

He recalled the prompt response of So-Safe Corps operatives to security-related incidents, noting that their commitment had contributed to efforts to protect lives and property within the university community.

The Vice-Chancellor also expressed willingness to support and recommend the Corps for greater recognition and opportunities to contribute further to security and community safety.

He, however, called for improved equipment and technological resources for the Corps, stressing that access to modern security tools would enhance its capacity to respond effectively to emerging security challenges across Ogun State.

Earlier, the university’s Chief Security Officer, Dr Moses Ogundeji, commended So-Safe Corps for its active role in maintaining security within the institution and surrounding communities.

Ogundeji particularly acknowledged the Corps’ prompt response to security calls and its readiness to take appropriate action whenever threats were reported.

Responding, Adegunwa, who spoke on behalf of the State Commander, Cmdr (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, FCAI, FIIM, FISN, appreciated the university management for its warm reception and continued cooperation with the Corps.

He said reports from the So-Safe Corps command covering the university’s host community had remained positive, adding that effective collaboration between security agencies and tertiary institutions was essential to creating a safe and conducive environment for teaching, learning and research.

Adegunwa disclosed that the Corps was planning to extend its special visits, engagements and security awareness programmes to other higher institutions across Ogun State.

He also informed the university management about the So-Safe Corps/OGBC weekly programme, noting that a media interview was conducted with the Vice-Chancellor in Yoruba during the visit. The interview focused on security, institutional cooperation and the relationship between the university and the Corps.

The visit ended with a group photograph involving the Vice-Chancellor, members of the university management and the So-Safe Corps delegation.

The Corps reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening partnerships with educational institutions, host communities and other stakeholders towards promoting safety, security and peaceful coexistence across Ogun State.
