President Bola Tinubu, represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, on Monday inaugurated a series of developmental projects executed by Kogi State Governor Ahmed Ododo as part of celebrations marking his first year in office.
The delegation was warmly received by Governor Ododo, his deputy Joel Oyibo, former governors Yahaya Bello and Idris Wada, commissioners, and other government officials.
Ododo led the Vice President and his entourage to the Zone 8 roundabout in Lokoja Local Government Area, where three road projects were commissioned, drawing praise from residents.
The commissioned projects include the Zone 8-Zango Daji-Kaduna Junction road spanning nine kilometers and the Zone 8-Crusher Road covering 5.5 kilometers.
Other commissioned projects included 350-bed hostels for boys and girls at the Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), a demonstration farm, two new faculties at the university, and primary healthcare centers (PHCs) across the state.
Addressing the delegation, Governor Ododo stated that the projects were part of his commitment to fulfilling campaign promises and improving the lives of Kogi residents.
“These projects are a testament to our desire to enhance the well-being of our people. They reflect the trust placed in us to deliver on our promises,” Ododo said.
He expressed gratitude to his predecessor, Yahaya Bello, for laying a solid foundation for his administration to build upon.
After commissioning the projects, Vice President Shettima and his entourage proceeded to the Government House for private discussions with stakeholders before heading to Muhammadu Buhari Square for the main anniversary celebration.
