President Bola Tinubu has congratulated Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, on the occasion of his 60th birthday.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President praised the Governor’s contributions to the growth and development of Lagos State, urging him to sustain the pace of transformational projects across the state.
Sanwo-Olu, who is the sixth democratically elected Governor of Lagos, began his political journey under Tinubu’s leadership. His public service record includes serving as Managing Director and CEO of the Lagos State Property Development Corporation and holding three commissioner positions across key ministries, including Economic Planning and Budget, Commerce and Industry, as well as Establishments, Training, and Pensions.
President Tinubu noted that Sanwo-Olu’s work aligns with the strategic master plan initiated during his own tenure as Governor of Lagos State from 1999 to 2007.
“Your execution of this vision is exemplified by landmark achievements, including completing the Blue and Red Rail lines and the ongoing preparations for the Purple Line, which will serve the vital Lekki corridor,” Tinubu said.
The President also encouraged Sanwo-Olu to prioritise long-awaited projects such as the Fourth Mainland Bridge and the Freedom Way to Victoria Garden City (VGC) Road.
“I urge you to sustain this trajectory by prioritising impactful projects for Lagosians,” Tinubu added.
The President concluded his message by wishing the Governor good health, long life, and more years of service to Lagos and the nation.
