Information Commissioners from All Progressives Congress (APC)-controlled states have expressed strong support for President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms, praising the resilience of Nigerians and affirming the administration’s efforts are beginning to yield tangible results.

The commendation came during the Progressive Governors Forum (PGF) Quarterly Strategy Meeting of Honourable Commissioners for Information of APC Governed States, held from April 24 to 25, 2025, at the PGF Secretariat in Asokoro, Abuja.

According to a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the forum described Tinubu’s reforms as “bold and strategic,” noting that they are laying the critical groundwork for national development.

“We commend President Bola Tinubu for his courageous and forward-thinking reforms. They are already yielding positive results and setting the stage for a stronger and more prosperous Nigeria,” the commissioners stated.

The forum, convened by the PGF Secretariat in alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda, served as a platform for strategic dialogue among APC state officials. It focused on enhancing communication practices, aligning policies across APC states, and fostering good governance.

“This meeting was about recalibrating our messaging and fostering a unified approach to governance that reflects the ideals of accountability and development,” said PGF Director General, Folorunso S. Aluko.

The commissioners also lauded Nigerians for their patience and support in the face of economic challenges, acknowledging the collective strength and determination of citizens across the country.

“We deeply appreciate the resilience and patience of Nigerians. Your unwavering support is a major pillar of the ongoing reforms,” the communiqué read.

In a bid to further connect with citizens and promote national values, the forum adopted the PGF National Value Reorientation Campaign as a transformative tool to renew civic consciousness.

“We are committed to driving this campaign across all states, reviving patriotism, and building a responsible citizenry that can contribute to national progress,” the commissioners resolved.

The meeting also emphasized the need for continued capacity building, inter-state collaboration, and the institutionalization of a quarterly communication strategy review forum coordinated by the PGF.

Among the commissioners present were Gbenga Omotoso (Lagos), Sagir Musa Ahmed (Jigawa), Kayode Akinmade (represented Ogun), Kingsley Femi Fanwo (Kogi), Erasmus Ekpang (Cross River), Taiwo Olatunbosun (Ekiti), Binta Mamman (Niger), Ibrahim Tanko (Nasarawa), Ibraheem Musa (Kaduna), Sambo Bello Danchadi (Sokoto), Paul Ohonbamu (Edo), and Yusuf Ali (Yobe).

The forum ended with a collective pledge to promote transparency, engage citizens actively, counter false narratives, and celebrate achievements under the APC-led administrations.
