Senator Solomon Adeola, representing Ogun West and chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriations, has urged voters in Remo Federal Constituency to rally behind the All Progressives Congress candidate, Princess Adesola Ayoola-Elegbeji, in the August 16 bye-election.
In a statement issued on Thursday by his Media Adviser, Chief Kayode Odunaro, Adeola said the bye-election follows the death of Hon. Adewunmi Onanuga, the former Deputy Chief Whip of the House of Representatives, adding that electing Ayoola-Elegbeji would sustain and build upon the developmental projects initiated by the late Onanuga.
“I want to appeal again to our royal fathers and all the eligible voters to do the right thing for the development of Remoland and beyond by casting their vote for Princess Ayoola-Elegbeji. Voting for her will not only honour the memory and good work started by the late Deputy Chief Whip but will ensure that the momentum of her development projects are sustained and built upon,” he stated.
The senator stressed that, as head of the Senate appropriations committee, it would be easier to work with an APC member for project facilitation. He also linked her victory to further delivery of President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly at a time when female representation in the legislature is dwindling.
Adeola expressed confidence that Ayoola-Elegbeji would give effective representation to the people of Remo Federal Constituency, assuring that he would provide necessary support to help her deliver on her legislative duties.
