Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has finally proposed to his longtime partner, Georgina Rodríguez, marking a new chapter in their nearly decade-long love story.
The 30-year-old Spanish model announced the engagement on Instagram on Monday, sharing a photo of a dazzling diamond ring with a heartfelt caption that read, “Yes, I do. In this and all my life.”
The post immediately set social media abuzz, with fans celebrating the couple’s next step.
Observers were quick to note that the ring was a new design, far larger and more striking than the one Georgina had previously been spotted wearing.
The couple, who met in 2016 while she was working as a sales assistant at a Gucci store in Madrid, have since built a life together, raising four children. Ronaldo also has an older son from a previous relationship.
Their romance became public after they were photographed at Disneyland Paris later that year, sparking widespread media attention.
Only last month, the 39-year-old Portuguese forward hinted about their wedding plans in the Netflix docuseries I Am Georgina, telling cameras: “I always tell her, ‘when we get that click.’ It could be in a year, six months, or even a month. I’m 1000 per cent sure it’ll happen.”
That “click” finally came, and for Ronaldo, it may just be one of the most important goals of his life.
