Veteran Nollywood actor, Yinka Quadri, on Monday broke down in tears as his longtime colleague and friend, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, was laid to rest in Ilaro, Ogun State.
Quadri was among prominent members of the Nigerian film industry who gathered in Ilaro to bid the late actor a final farewell. His emotional reaction reflected the deep bond he shared with Hassan, whom he had known and worked with for several years.
The veteran actor was also among colleagues who rallied around Ogogo during his illness, offering support and encouragement throughout the period of his battle with cancer.
Other Nollywood personalities who attended the burial included veteran actor, Jide Kosoko, actress Ireti Osayemi, Femi Adebayo and several other colleagues who came to honour the deceased.
Ogogo, who was 66, died on Sunday, August 23, 2026, after battling stage-four cancer.
His death has continued to generate tributes across Nigeria, with colleagues, political leaders, traditional institutions and fans mourning the loss of one of the notable figures in Yoruba cinema.
Ogogo, whose career spanned several decades, was widely recognised for his distinctive acting style and contributions to the development of Yoruba-language films.
The burial brought together members of the entertainment industry, family, friends and residents of Ilaro, who gathered to pay their last respects to the veteran actor.
