No fewer than 4,000 indigent students across Ogun State have benefited from the free registration for the 2026 Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board examination sponsored by Senator Solomon Adeola.

This was contained in a press statement signed by his Media Adviser, High Chief Kayode Odunaro, on February 21, 2026, announcing the successful completion of the exercise under the “Sen Yayi Free JAMB 2026” initiative.

The programme, fully financed by the lawmaker representing Ogun West Senatorial District, ended with 4,000 candidates successfully enrolled and provided with their registration PINs.

Commenting on the success of the scheme, Adeola described it as a continuation of his long standing educational support initiatives aimed at ensuring that brilliant but financially disadvantaged students are not denied opportunities due to economic hardship. He noted that the intervention is another leg of his personal educational empowerment efforts, preparatory to scholarship and bursary facilitation for students in tertiary institutions.

“As far as I can help it, none of our children will miss educational opportunities arising out of adverse economic predicament of their parents or guardians,” the senator stated.

A breakdown of beneficiaries showed that 2,183 candidates were from Ogun West, 1,358 from Ogun Central, while 418 were drawn from Ogun East, reflecting a statewide spread of the intervention.

The statement added that some applicants who were yet to receive their PINs due to incorrect information supplied in their profiles, underage issues discovered by JAMB, and other related reasons, are being further assisted to see the possibility of resolving the challenges.

The Free JAMB programme, which has been running for years, has continued to attract appreciation from beneficiaries and their parents.

Alhaji Suara Adeyemi from Ipokia Local Government, whose daughter benefited from the scheme, described the gesture as a welcome financial relief, especially after paying school fees for other siblings seeking admission into higher institutions.

Also posting on the senator’s social media handle, a beneficiary, Mr. Henry Olaitan from Odeda Local Government Area, said he would have missed the entry examination as his guardian could not afford the fees for him and two other children.
