Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of Oba Adedeji Onagoruwa, the Alaye of Odogbolu, describing his demise as a significant loss to the people of Odogbolu and the entire Ogun East Senatorial District.
The revered monarch, who dedicated his life to the service of his people, passed away on Monday at the age of 80 after a brief illness.
In a condolence message, Governor Abiodun praised the late king’s leadership, noting his unwavering commitment to the development of Odogbolu.
“Oba Onagoruwa will be deeply missed by his people, given the wisdom and diplomacy he demonstrated in overseeing the affairs of his domain,” Abiodun stated.
The governor also described the late monarch as a custodian of Yoruba culture and tradition, who ruled with love and affection while upholding values of wisdom and native intelligence.
“We take solace in the fact that he left behind an indelible legacy of service and leadership. May God grant his soul eternal rest,” he added.
Abiodun offered prayers for the repose of the late king’s soul and extended his sympathies to the royal family and the people of Odogbolu as they navigate this period of mourning.
