The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, has called on residents to remain vigilant as preparations intensify for the Eid-el-Fitri celebrations across the state.
The State Commander, Soji Ganzallo, gave the advice in a statement issued through the Director of Information and Public Relations, Assistant Commander Adegunwa Adegbuyi, noting that security measures have been strengthened to ensure a peaceful festive period.
Ganzallo described Eid-el-Fitri as a time of joy, reflection, and unity that follows a month of spiritual devotion. He, however, stressed that the period also requires heightened awareness from residents, especially in crowded environments.
He urged residents to exercise caution at prayer grounds, markets, and social gatherings, warning against unnecessary late-night movement, particularly in isolated areas.
The commander also advised motorists to ensure their vehicles are in good condition before travelling, while calling for strict adherence to traffic regulations to prevent avoidable accidents during the celebrations.
Residents travelling out of their homes were told to secure their property and valuables, and to promptly report any suspicious activities to security agencies.
Ganzallo further appealed to clerics, community leaders, parents, and youths to promote peace, tolerance, and unity, while respecting the rule of law throughout the festive period.
He assured that the Corps has intensified patrols and surveillance across Ogun State, with officers strategically deployed to key locations and flashpoints to maintain law and order.
The So-Safe Corps boss also reaffirmed the agency’s collaboration with other security outfits to guarantee a hitch-free Eid-el-Fitri celebration.
He extended greetings to Muslim faithful in the state, wishing them a peaceful and safe celebration.
