The Olowu of Kuta Kingdom in Osun State, Oba Hammed Adekunle Makama Oyelude, has been commended for his sustained advocacy against drug abuse and his commitment to promoting national unity.
The commendation was contained in a statement issued by the Global President of the Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation, Alhaji Asiwaju Dapo Wahab, who described the monarch as a symbol of visionary leadership and patriotism.
Wahab noted that the monarch’s consistent stance against substance abuse, particularly among youths, had contributed to ongoing efforts aimed at building a healthier and more responsible society.
He said, “Kabiyesi is not just a custodian of culture, but a progressive monarch whose voice resonates far beyond the ancient walls of Kuta Kingdom. His steadfast advocacy for peace, security, and the honour of Nigeria’s armed forces reflects a rare blend of patriotism and royal responsibility.”
The foundation president added that the monarch had continued to deploy his influence and traditional authority to support campaigns against drug abuse through community engagement and preventive initiatives.
According to him, Oba Oyelude’s role as the Royal Grand Patron of the Asiwaju Dapo Wahab Foundation further demonstrates his dedication to humanitarian causes and youth development.
Wahab said, “His reign is a powerful reminder that true royalty is not only inherited but demonstrated through service, integrity, and impact.”
He urged Nigerians, especially young people, to emulate the values of discipline, responsibility, and patriotism exemplified by the traditional ruler.
