President Bola Tinubu has appointed former House of Representatives spokesman, Abdulrazak Sa’ad Namdas, as the new Director General of the Border Communities Development Agency, while also naming Patrick Obahiagbon and reappointing Chukwuma Umeoji as executive directors of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company.

The appointments were announced in a statement issued on Friday by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga.

According to the statement, Namdas takes over from Dr Dakorinama Alabo George, who resigned his appointment to contest for an elective position in his home state.

The Presidency described Namdas as a seasoned journalist and public relations practitioner, noting that he previously represented Ganye, Jada, Mayo Belwa and Toungo Federal Constituency of Adamawa State in the House of Representatives, where he served as the spokesperson of the 8th House. He also served as Chief Press Secretary to former Adamawa State Governor Boni Haruna and was an aspirant in the recently concluded governorship primary election in the state.

The President also appointed former lawmaker Patrick Obahiagbon as Executive Director, Strategy and Commercial, of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company, replacing Engineer Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, who resigned to pursue his political ambition in Edo State.

Obahiagbon previously served in both the Edo State House of Assembly and the National Assembly.

Similarly, Tinubu reappointed former Aguata Federal Constituency lawmaker, Chukwuma Umeoji, as Executive Director, Corporate Services, of the NDPHC after his earlier resignation to pursue his political ambition in Anambra State.

The Presidency stated, “President Tinubu has appointed Hon. Patrick Obahiagbon as the Executive Director, Strategy & Commercial, of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC).” It added that “President Tinubu reappointed Mr Chukwuma Umeoji as Executive Director, Corporate Services of the NDPHC.”

The statement further noted that “all appointments are effective immediately.”
