The Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, popularly known as So-Safe Corps, has arrested a 42-year-old farmer, Ganiu Agbajo, for allegedly defiling a 12-year-old girl in Ipokia Local Government Area of the state.
The arrest followed a report received by the agency on September 7, 2026, from concerned members of the community after the girl allegedly returned home crying and told her mother that she had been raped by a man.
According to a statement issued by the State Commander of So-Safe Corps, Commander (Dr.) Soji Ganzallo, through the Director of Information and Public Relations, ACC Adegunwa Adegbuyi, the mother raised an alarm after hearing the girl’s account, prompting members of the community to report the matter to the agency.
The suspect was subsequently arrested at his residence at Hassan Compound, Igbokulu, Ita-Egbe, Ipokia.
During preliminary interrogation, Agbajo allegedly admitted to the offence and told investigators that he committed the act on his farm at Ojugo, Ita-Egbe.
The So-Safe Corps commander commended residents for their cooperation in reporting the incident and urged members of the public to promptly report unlawful and suspicious activities to the agency for appropriate action.
